"Box Republic" was shot and created during the autumn/winter months of 2004 in the tropics.
It was selected for showcase in a youth arts festival by the Singapore National Arts Council.
Its 15 seconds in the limelight was a place on the noisesingapore website, plus a few inches in the arts council's newsletter.
Box Republic could not beat out other more acclaimed works for exposure on Singapore's bigger mainstream media platforms like MTV, Lime and i-Weekly.

"NOISE" : that is the prestigious label our very Singaporean arts council has selected for the voices of artistic Singaporean youths. And, if you're selected for showcase by them, you are "[making] a LOUD noise."
The Mastermind (Khoon), the Collaborator (Jeff), and the Model (half-naked Jan) of The Box Republic Project were eventually invited to the Noise Singapore Festival opening gala at Rouge. They had a few drinks, and left before the V.I.P (Minister for Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister for National Development: mr lim swee say) could start his speech.
Many months later, U.S troops remain stationed in Iraq, and Chen Shui Bian actually still has people cheering for him in Taiwan. The media landscape remains steeped in a mish-mash of myth and monkeying.
The End.
